a bookshop as a bookshop should be

Patirtis, derived from the word for Experience, is the quarterly digital magazine curated by Book Jaison Bookshop. Founded in January 2026 as a sanctuary for authentic creative expression, the publication successfully launched its highly anticipated inaugural issue on April 8, 2026.
We believe that literature is not just a collection of words on a page, but the ultimate orchestration of human experience.
Every three months, Patirtis brings together a curated tapestry of poetry, short fiction, personal essays, and deep literary commentary from thinkers and creators worldwide. Our mission is to serve as a quiet refuge in a noisy digital age.
We are built on the foundational belief that every life holds a profound story worth telling, and every undiscovered voice deserves a flawless canvas. Because we believe literature should elevate and enrich the human mind, Patirtis maintains a strictly curated, dignified space. We purposefully detach our pages from contemporary politics, divisive discourse, and superficial trends, choosing instead to focus entirely on timeless human emotions, philosophy, and artistic excellence.
All issues of our magazine are published digitally right here on our official Book Jaison website. To make sure you never miss a release, we keep our community updated through our newsletters and regular social media posts.
Yes, absolutely! We believe in supporting writers, which is why Book Jaison provides constructive feedback to everyone who submits their work for an issue. The feedback is shared directly on your submitted piece to help you refine your craft.
Currently, we do not pay our contributing writers, but we also *do not charge any reading or entry fees* to submit. While many paying literary spaces require an entry fee, we want to keep our platform free and accessible to all. That being said, introducing contributor payments is definitely part of our roadmap for future projects!
We read every single submission with care. You can generally expect a response regarding acceptance or rejection via email within 3 to 4 weeks after the submission window closes.
Yes, you can submit up to 3 poems or 1 short story per submission cycle. We also allow simultaneous submissions (submitting to other magazines at the same time), but please drop us a quick email to withdraw your piece immediately if it gets accepted elsewhere!
We are always open to poetry and short stories! Since we don't restrict writers by specific themes or topics for our Fall 2026 issue, feel free to send us your best creative pieces across any genre.
