We Are Always Open For Submissions

Our pages are open to all genres—poetry, short fiction, personal essays, and book commentaries. However, to maintain the literary integrity and soul of Patirtis, we adhere to a strict set of editorial standards:

To help us carefully read and organize everything for the Fall Issue, please keep the following parameters in mind before sending your work:

• Poetry: You may submit up to 3 poems. We welcome both traditional forms and free verse—pieces that capture a distinct moment or feeling.
• Fiction & Short Stories: We accept up to 2 short stories, with a maximum word count of 2,500 words per story. Seek to capture a narrative that lingers.
• Creative Non-Fiction & Literary Essays: Reflections on reading, writing, memory, or community. Maximum 2,000 words.

• Keep it clean: Please submit text pieces in a standard, readable font (like Times New Roman or Arial) via standard document formats (.doc, .docx, or PDF).
• Original work only: All submissions must be your own original work.
• Simultaneous submissions: If your piece is accepted elsewhere while we are reviewing it, just send us a quick note so we can celebrate with you and update our files.
